This Privacy Policy explains how MuzikiAfrika collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

Depending on whether you are a Listener or Artist, we may collect:
- Account data: name/username, phone number, email (if used), password (stored securely as a hash), profile details
- Artist verification data: government-issued ID details and verification images/documents
- Content data: uploaded audio, cover art, metadata, ownership documents
- Transaction data: coin purchase/usage records, payouts/withdrawals, transaction references
- Device/usage data: app activity, device identifiers, crash logs, performance metrics
- Support communications: messages you send to support, reports, complaints
3. How We Use Your Data
We use data to:
- Create and manage accounts
- Verify Artist identity and reduce fraud/impersonation
- Host and deliver music content inside the Platform
- Manage coins, earnings, and withdrawals
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and illegal activity
- Respond to support requests and enforce Terms
- Comply with legal obligations in Kenya
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data where necessary for:
- Performing the service you request (account, streaming, uploads, payouts)
- Legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, platform integrity)
- Legal compliance (lawful requests, statutory obligations)
- Consent (only where required—for example, if you opt in to receive marketing communications)

We do not sell your personal data.
We do not share your personal data with outside parties except where required by law (e.g., lawful requests by Kenyan authorities or court orders).

Artist verification records may be retained longer where required for fraud prevention and legal compliance.

Artists must be 18+. If we learn a minor’s data was collected without proper authority, we may delete it and restrict access.
