PesaCount is an offline-first business and payment-record tool that helps users read M-Pesa SMS messages, extract transaction details, and generate local business records, summaries, and reports.

PesaCount is designed to work locally on your device. The App is not a bank, mobile money provider, accounting firm, tax advisor, lender, or financial advisor.

PesaCount is not owned by, operated by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Safaricom PLC, M-Pesa, Google, or any third-party payment provider.

By using PesaCount, you confirm that:

• You have read and accepted these Terms.
• You will use the App only for lawful personal or business recordkeeping.
• You are responsible for checking that records generated by the App are accurate before relying on them.
• You will not misuse the App to commit fraud, hide unlawful transactions, impersonate another person, or violate applicable law.

You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms under the laws applicable to you. If you use PesaCount for a business, you confirm that you have authority to use the App for that business and to grant SMS access on the device where the App is installed.

PesaCount’s core function requires access to SMS messages so the App can identify payment-related messages and build transaction records.

PesaCount only uses SMS access for the following purposes:

• Detecting M-Pesa or payment-related SMS messages.
• Extracting transaction details such as amount, date, time, transaction reference, sender, recipient, till number, paybill number, account/reference text, fees, and balance where present in the SMS.
• Building local dashboards, summaries, reports, and payment records.
• Verifying payment/unlock status where the App uses SMS-based unlock.

PesaCount may scan SMS messages locally after you grant permission, but non-payment SMS messages are ignored and are not stored as business records.

PesaCount does not collect any personal data other than SMS data required for the App’s payment-record functionality.

PesaCount does not collect: Contacts, Call logs, Location, Photos or videos, Microphone recordings, Camera data, Browsing history, Installed apps list, Advertising ID, Biometric data, Government ID documents, Passwords, Email content, or Social media data.

PesaCount stores parsed transaction records locally on your device. Unless a future version clearly states otherwise, PesaCount does not upload your SMS data, transaction records, business records, reports, or analytics to our servers.

You are responsible for protecting your device, screen lock, backups, and exported files.

PesaCount does not sell, rent, trade, disclose, upload, sync, or share your data with third parties, including advertisers, analytics providers, or external payment companies.

The only exception is where disclosure is required by a valid law or court order, and only to the extent we actually possess the requested information.

PesaCount will request SMS permission only where needed for its core functionality. You can deny or revoke SMS permission through your Android device settings. If revoked, PesaCount may not be able to generate transaction records automatically.

PesaCount depends on SMS message format and availability. We do not guarantee that every transaction will be captured or displayed correctly. You are responsible for verifying all records before using them for accounting or legal purposes.

PesaCount provides recordkeeping and reporting tools only. We do not provide professional financial, tax, or legal advice. Consult a qualified professional for official business decisions.

You are responsible for granting access only on devices you control, reviewing records for accuracy, backing up your data, and complying with all applicable laws.

You must not use PesaCount to commit fraud, create false records, hide unlawful transactions, or interfere with App security.

Payment terms for premium features will be shown in the App. PesaCount is not responsible for M-Pesa or network downtime affecting payment verification. Payments are final once access is unlocked.

PesaCount may deny refund requests where paid access is already unlocked or if the issue was caused by user error or device settings. Statutory refund rights will be respected.

Because PesaCount is local-first, your data may be stored only on your device. We are not responsible for lost records caused by device loss, damage, or uninstallation without backup.

You are responsible for where you send exported records. User-controlled exports are actions taken by you, not third-party sharing by PesaCount.

No device or app is 100% secure. You are responsible for using a device lock and keeping your operating system updated.

We may update or discontinue features at any time. Continued use after changes to these Terms means you accept the updated Terms.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PesaCount and its owner are not liable for incorrect parsing, lost records, lost profits, or any indirect damages resulting from your use of the app.

You agree to indemnify PesaCount and its owner from claims arising from your use of the app, your business records, or your breach of these Terms.

You can delete local App data by clearing App data or uninstalling the App. If accounts are added in the future, a deletion method will be provided.

PesaCount is not intended for children. Users must be legally allowed to manage financial records.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
